Red Insight is run by current and former sex workers in the Netherlands. On this platform we share knowledge, news, artwork, and perspectives that come from our own communities.
Above all, this is a space for sex workers. Most of all, we aim to amplify the voices of marginalised workers, within our communities and beyond. We also welcome people who are allies.
Our vision
We envision a world where our labour is recognised, where sex workers are respected and our rights are upheld. We envision a world of gender, racial, social and economic equality, where freedom of movement is a reality, enabling individuals to start, continue or leave sex work safely, and be free from violence and coercion.
Treasurer role
We are looking for someone who wants to join our board with a focus on financial oversight. You don’t need to be a professional accountant, but you should feel comfortable working with budgets and financial reports, and with asking critical questions. This job can be done fully remotely.
What you will do
- Oversee the financial health of the foundation
- Review budgets, reports, and annual accounts
- Support transparency and responsible spending
- Join board meetings (a few times per year, mostly online)
- Think along with the board on sustainability and funding
You will not be responsible for daily administration; this is about oversight, not execution.
Who you are
- You have basic financial understanding (or are willing to learn)
- You are comfortable reading budgets and asking questions
- You value transparency, collaboration, and care
- You are interested in media, activism, or community work
- You are aligned with the values of Red Insight
We especially welcome people from diverse backgrounds and lived experiences.
What we offer
- A meaningful role in a unique, international organisation
- A collaborative and supportive board culture
- The opportunity to contribute to systemic change and representation
- Flexible and low time commitment
This is a voluntary position (expenses can be reimbursed).
Liability
Board members are not personally liable for the organisation’s activities under normal circumstances. Only in cases of serious mismanagement (such as fraud or reckless decisions) can personal liability apply.
